In a launch and signing ceremony held on 12 October 2006, attended by guests and media, Y.B.M Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Minister Of Tourism Malaysia, announced that the first ever Kuala Lumpur International Buskers' Festival 2006 (KLIBF 2006) is finally coming to Malaysia.

Held at Malaysian Tourism Centre, the event also saw Pempena Sdn Bhd and Interexpo Sdn Bhd signed a Memorandum of Understanding that put KLIBF 2006 underway. Witnessed by Y.B.M Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Pempena Sdn Bhd and Interexpo Sdn Bhd will put together their expertise and experiences to jointly organize the inaugural Buskers' Festival.
