A Few Do's & Don'ts
Do wear something light to look cool and stay cool.
Don't wear man-made fibres near shows featuring fire performances – they can be damaged by the smallest spark.
Do give generously to the performers' hats – it's for charity.
Do have a great time!
Be a buddy to your Busker... For those who are unfamiliar with the care and feeding of Buskers, we hope the following suggestions are of some help.
Do laugh at every silly Busker joke Even the terrible ones. It may be a long time before you hear jokes as bad as these again. So appreciate them while you can.
Don't repeat Busker jokes at home or in the office They are much worse than you remember them.
Do participate as much as possible Sing along, take pictures, get in their way if you have to – Buskers love a challenge.
Don't stand back & hide If you hide in hopes that you will not be chosen to help the Busker in some facet of their performance, you are guaranteed to be picked. Buskers have been specially trained to find those who hide and hang back.
Do seek out the quieter routines They are a gentle pool of sanity in an ocean of madness.
Don't be shy about giving money Don't wait to be asked. Buskers aren't shy about accepting it. The money goes to charity.
Do have fun and enjoy yourself Leave your inhibitions at home. Scream, shout, stomp your feet, let everyone know you're having a great time.
Don't hesitate to invite your favourite Busker for a plate of chicken rice or challenge them to smell your favourite durian Most Buskers are away from home and will appreciate some good old Malaysian hospitality. ^ Top |
